Reading time: 2 minutes
Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m excited to share a bit about my journey since launching my virtual assistant (VA) business just a few months ago. It’s been an incredible learning experience, filled with challenges, growth, tears and many little wins. If you’re curious about starting a VA business or considering hiring a VA, I hope my story resonates with you.
Taking the Leap: Starting My VA Business
When I decided to become a virtual assistant, I had no idea what to expect. I mean, I had read about it and had heard there were plenty of opportunities, but oh boy, did I not have a clue! But I took the plunge, figuring things out as I went along. In those first few weeks, I juggled setting up systems, securing clients, and learning the ropes of entrepreneurship. Who am I kidding, I am still very much in that phase!
But the biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is that you don’t need to have everything figured out on day one – something I am learning to accept. Starting something new can be overwhelming, but also exciting. Each day brings fresh challenges, and by staying organised and believing in what I’m offering, I’ve been able to build something meaningful.
The Heart of Virtual Assistance: Helping Clients Succeed
Being a virtual assistant is more than just completing tasks; it’s about helping clients focus on what matters most to them. My job is to make their lives easier by keeping things organised and running smoothly behind the scenes. Whether it’s managing emails, organising schedules, or tracking projects, I’m all about efficiency—and that’s what I truly enjoy!
Building Relationships: Connecting with Clients
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a VA is building real connections with my clients. It’s not just about offering services; it’s about understanding their goals and being a partner in their success. I didn’t realise how fulfilling it would be to help someone reach their business goals and know that my support played a part in that.
Embracing Flexibility: The VA Lifestyle
One of the perks of being a virtual assistant is the flexibility it offers. I work from home, create my own schedule, and have control over my work-life balance. This is what I was very much craving! But that also means I’ve had to learn self-discipline. It’s easy to let work spill into personal time (special when you have a Labrador that keeps looking at you with those puppy eyes!), but setting boundaries has been key to staying productive and to keep having my eight hours sleep.
Looking Ahead: The Future of My VA Business
As I continue to grow my business, I’m excited about the possibilities ahead. There’s always more to learn, and I’m sure I will be expanding my services. But for now, my goal is to keep helping small business owners succeed while growing my own skills and client base.
Thanks for reading about my journey so far! If you’re interested in working together or just want to connect, feel free to reach out. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me and how we can support each other along the way.
PS: A big shout out to my partner which is without a doubt, the most patient man I have ever met!
