Running a business with ADHD is often brilliant, but it can also be exhausting. You might be amazing at big-picture ideas and creative problem-solving, but the “boring” admin tasks can feel impossible. I have seen so many talented business owners burn out because they are fighting against the way their brain naturally works.

The good news is that there is a UK government fund designed to help. It is called Access to Work (AtW), and it is a huge help for the neurodivergent community.

Essentially, Access to Work is a grant that pays for extra help at work for people with ADHD or autism. If you run your own business, this grant can give you thousands of pounds every year to hire a Support Worker, like a Virtual Assistant.

This isn’t a loan you have to pay back, and it doesn’t matter how much money your business makes. It is simply there to help you stay in work and keep your business running smoothly.

Many people don’t apply because they don’t think their struggles are “serious” enough. But if ADHD makes it hard for you to manage your calendar, reply to emails, or keep your records in order, you are likely eligible. Imagine how much easier things would be if you had a partner to handle the tasks that usually drain your energy. This grant makes that help affordable. It stops you from losing money on late fees or missed jobs.

The problem is that to get this help, you have to fill out a long application form. For an ADHD brain, that is often the hardest part of the whole process.

This is where I can help. I don’t just work for you once you have the grant; I can help you fill out the application itself. I know how to describe the challenges you face in a way that the government understands. You don’t have to do the paperwork alone. It is time to stop struggling and get the support that is already there for you.
